Listening Blog 8
Hello to anyone reading this… For this weeks listening blog I chose to write on the song that is well known today. I feel like we hear this song in a lot of tik toks or instagram reels and it is mainly known in our day and age for incest. I chose to write on the song “Sweet Home Alabama” by Lynyrd Skynyrd. It is amazing to see how a song can be popular when it first comes out in 1974 and continue to be popular all the way until basically 2022. I believe that any song able to accomplish that deserves some recognition. I like how this song has a very distinct and recognizable guitar pattern. It has a good rhythm to it to help make it more of a memorizable song. My favorite part of the song is definitely the chorus. Like any song, it is always fun to just belt out the lyrics and know it word for word and sing along. This song has such an easy chorus it made it easy for so many untalented people like myself to learn the lyrics so you could enjoy it as well. Thank you for reading my blog post and havre a good rest of your day!
Haha great great song choice. This song is so iconic with that starting rift. I actually had the opportunity to see Lynard Skynard in concert the beginning of my junior year in high school. And i will admit, I have seen some of the strangest characters I had ever seen at that concert. Some were bikers, others wearing confederate flag sweatshirts. That was possibly more entertaining than the concert itself!!
ReplyDeleteI love the memes that use this song, they are always super funny. It is super awesome how much impact an older song can have on the newer generation. I guarantee every single person knows this song and its iconic riff. I didn't know for a long time that this song was by Lynyrd Skynyrd. Great analysis!
