Second Blog Post

For this weeks post I decided to write on the song “Long John”. This song was sung by slaves and anyone else being used for manual labor in south. While you are playing the song, the first thing you may notice is the beat that they sing to. This is an easy beat to replicate during any form of work. Just like a lot of songs, the music speeds up and slows down based on what the music wants you to feel. With Mariachi you are happy and upbeat one second and the next, they might be playing at a slower pace to make you feel sad or down. I feel like the reason I like Mariachi is because of this slowing and speeding of music. It is one of the most basic ways to change emot...
