First Real Music Blog

 For this blog I chose to write on the song “La Negra” by the Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlan. While listening this song it is impossible to either not smile or tap your foot. Whether it is from pure amusement or your love for the Mariachi past, it is a fun song to listen to. Mariachi is known to have a very fast paced sound to it, even though this is the case most of the time, you can still hear the highs and lows of the song. This type of music is mainly played at parties or get togethers in Hispanic countries. I feel like it might be fun to incorporate something like this into the average American culture as well. Just like a lot of songs, the music speeds up and slows down based on what the music wants you to feel. With Mariachi you are happy and upbeat one second and the next, they might be playing at a slower pace to make you feel sad or down. I feel like the reason I like Mariachi is because of this slowing and speeding of music. It is one of the most basic ways to change emotions so this culture really took that idea and ran with it.
